“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” (Psalm 23:4)
I was thinking today about the last four years of my life. I think a lot of you have been where I have been for the last few years. You have been buffeted by the storms of life. You have often wondered, “where is God” in these situations. The tests at this level are harder then those in the beginning of your walk with God. Some of you can look back and wonder how you made it. Some of you are in the midst of horrific situations as you read this, and perhaps you have thought, “If God is with me why is He allowing this?”
I mention the four years time period. It’s interesting to me that it usually takes four years to get your Bachelors degree. If you make it through the four years you can then go on for higher degrees with some amount of preparation.
In the past year, I have felt the Lord guiding my hands over the keyboard as I write. The theme always stays the same. I feel that God has been teaching me to teach others how to make it through these times and especially how to make it without giving up on God.
That is the whole test in a nutshell. When God began this teaching with me I was pretty ignorant of what was going on. I would lie to you if I said that there were not times when I said to God, “What are you doing? What do you expect of me?
But, as I made it through one trial or the other, my faith became stronger. The test became really obvious to me at one point. I was in the crucible of fire and learning how to lean on Him completely each time a situation came to try me.
I begin to see that certain people were drawn to my little blog. Those people were either going through, or had gone through, most of the things I was going through. They too are overcomers, and God has people in each arena of life that feel comfortable and relate to others with temptations and trials in the same area as theirs.
Once this first set of situations has been overcome, with times of taking two steps forward and two steps back, we are so sure that if God has brought us this far, He is not about to let us go now.
We aren’t perfected yet. First Corinthians 13:12 puts it this way;
“For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.”
If you, like me, have made it through the initial testing, you are now going to be promoted to some new things in the coming year.
I believe that we will be supernaturally supplied with enough money to be at some level of comfort we have not known before. I am seeing that in my own life. When it happens the extra provision is a test in itself. Will we forget about God when we are no longer struggling for our daily bread? Will we realize that any blessings we have are to be used for the whole body of Christ? Will we bless others with a part of each thing we are blessed with?
We have learned that some people that were important in our lives have walked away, and we are not only okay with that, we have found that there is a peace and contentment without the constant drama these people created in our lives.
With this move onward to a higher level, we have to be prepared for stronger opposition. I always say the following, The Higher the level the stronger the devil.
Now we know without a shadow of a doubt who the enemy of our soul is. We cannot be surprised when some of the things that mean the most to us are being tested. We cannot be surprised when some of those we love deeply come against us. Didn’t Judas, in Christ’s inner circle, betray Christ?
I believe that we have learned, and now we must teach others, the importance of hanging tough when all hell seems to be prevailing against us. We are almost at the end of the race, but there could still be setbacks. People are watching our reactions. Lets teach them that there is a future and that in order to get there we have to trust God explicitly regardless of what things look like in the natural.
Attacks can come from area’s you never expected them to come from. Stop and contemplate the situation and immediately you will know where the opposition is coming from.
Be prepared to be promoted this coming year into a new arena of influence. Be prepared for God to find ways to comfort and provide for you supernaturally in this new time of your life.
Passing the tests is like being a non-commissioned officer in God army. You are still in God’s army but now you are in the officers club. You are still a fighter but your situation is better then when you were not commissioned.
In conclusion the peace the passes all understand is surrounding a lot of us now, but it was accomplished with a price.
You too can pass from hard circumstance quickly when you lay them on the altar and determine to stay true to God regardless of what comes against you. If you can lay it all down at the feet of God today, that very act touches His heart and He will be quickly drawn to your side with an army of angels!
Slow down and take the curves and bumps cautiously and teach those around you to do the same because that is how we are going to make it to the finish line.
In His Unconditional Love,
